Arrival

Flights to the lodge depart from Anchorage’s Lake Hood (adjacent to Ted Stevens International Airport) at 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM via Rusts Flying Service, unless arranged otherwise.

It is unlikely that your commercial flight will arrive in Anchorage the same morning, as most flights arrive in the afternoon or evening. You may need to overnight in Anchorage if you’re booked on an early morning lodge departure.

If your arrival in Anchorage is close to your lodge departure time, you can call Rusts Flying Service (907) 243-1595 for complimentary shuttle service. Most Anchorage hotels also offer free shuttle service to Rusts Flying Service. See our Trip Planning guide for more information on Anchorage lodging.

Departure

Your return flight will leave the lodge at 8:30 AM or 5:00 PM depending on your preference. You will arrive back in Anchorage at either 10:00 AM or 6:30 PM.

The flight duration is approximately 40 minutes, with added time for taxiing along the creek. We recommend allowing several hours in Anchorage before your departing commercial flight.

If you arrive in the AM, you’ll typically depart in the AM. The same applies for PM schedules. We are flexible—if you’d prefer to arrive in the morning and depart in the afternoon, pricing can be adjusted to accommodate.

Flying Services

Guests are flown to and from the lodge in float planes (Cessna 206, DeHavilland Beaver or Turbine Otters) operated by Rusts Flying Service Inc. or Regal Air. Both operate out of Lake Hood Seaplane Base near Anchorage International Airport. Both services are fully insured and maintain excellent safety records.
