the annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race from Anchorage to Nome each March. Throughout the winter Skwentna is a favorite spot for weekend snowmachine adventures, dog teams, fat bikers, and cross-country skiers, and in the summer it is a hot-spot for fishing. Northwoods Lodge takes advantage of this fantastic fishing on Fish Lakes Creek, located 15-miles downriver from Skwentna. We also fish up to six other Alaska Creeks within boating distance of our fishing lodge such as Lake Creek which runs 60 miles north to south from Chelatna Lake in the Alaska Mountain Range to the Yentna River.
