Getting to the Northwoods Lodge for your Alaska Fishing TripGetting Here ... Fly-in to the Northwoods Lodge

Accessible only by air or water, the Northwoods Lodge is a great destination fishing vacation. A scenic 40 minute flight from Anchorage, Alaska's Ted Stevens International Airport - getting here is a sure way to start your trip off right.

Arrival ...

Flights to the lodge depart from Anchorages Lake Hood (Adjacent to Ted Stevens International Airport) at 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM from Trail Ridge Air, unless arranged otherwise. It is unlikely that your commercial flight will arrive at Anchorage's Ted Stevens International Airport that same morning, as most incoming flights arrive afternoon or early evening. You may find it necessary to overnight in Anchorage if you are booked on an early morning departure to the lodge. If your flight arrives just prior to your flight to the lodge, call Trail Ridge Air at 248-0838 for a free complimentary shuttle. If you need to stay in Anchorage overnight, most hotels provide free shuttle service to Trail Ridge Air. Our Trip Planning guide has more information on Anchorage Lodging.

... and Departure

Your return flight will leave the lodge at 8:30 AM or 5:00 PM (depending upon your preference) on your scheduled day of departure. You will arrive back in Anchorage at either 10:00 AM or 6:30 PM. The flight is about a 40 minute flight, but added time is allowed for taxing down the creek, etc. It is best to allow several additional hours in Anchorage before flying home from the Anchorage Intl Airport. If you arrive at the lodge in the AM, you will normally depart the lodge in the AM. The same applies to PM arrivals and departures. We are flexible with either of these times, so if it works better for you to arrive in the morning and depart in the afternoon, prices can be adjusted to accommodate your needs.

Flying Service

Guests are flown to and from the lodge in float planes (Cessna 206 or DeHavilland Beaver) operated by Jim & Lori Jensen of Trail Ridge Air, Inc. They are based out of Lake Hood Seaplane base near the Anchorage International Airport. The flying service is fully insured and has an excellent safety record.
