From the Bering Sea near the North Pole to Annette Island at the south end of the Alexander Archipelago - an Alaskan fishing trip is the most exciting angling adventure in the world. Here in the Mat-Su valley, we think that fishing our lakes, rivers and streams are the best of the very best.
When is the best time to come? From May through September every year, the angling is so productive your daily bag limit is almost always achieved.
What is the most exciting fish to catch? Hands down - it's the fish on your line! A King Salmon, up to 65 pounds, is a challenge and a thrill. But wait till you have the acrobatic Silver (Coho) Salmon on the line. Wiley Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling are often the favorites of fly and spin fishermen alike.
At the Northwoods Lodge it is our pleasure to make your Alaska fishing trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Your professional guides know that our fishing is the most productive early in the morning, so your fishing day begins at 5:00 a.m. The kitchen staff will have a breakfast cooler ready for you to take with you in the boat. On-boat breakfasts consist of fresh muffins or pastries, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit and juice, coffee and hot water. Hot egg sausage croissant sandwiches are offered at the main lodge before your boat departs in the morning. Boats return to the lodge at 10:30 a.m. and a large buffet brunch is served at 11:00 a.m.
After brunch, take advantage of our hot tub to warm up or take a nap in your room or on our large deck before going back out fishing later in the afternoon. A five-course, gourmet dinner is served at the lodge at 6:00 pm every evening to allow for evening fishing afterwards.
Whenever you come, you can be sure that for an Alaska Fishing Trip to remember. At the Northwoods Lodge, our goal is that each of our guests leave as good friends and that their fishing vacation with us exceeds their expectations.
