Northwoods Lodge - Alaska fishing at Fish Lakes Creek out of Skwentna Alaska

Alaska salmon fishing at Northwoods LodgeWhat makes a vacation an adventure? We like to think it is offering our guests the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan recreation and relaxation every time they visit!

Our location guarantees that you will see wilderness close up. We're off the road system but easy to get to. Most visitors arrive by air since round trip airfare from Anchorage is included in their stay. With no highways or busy traffic, the wildlife are our closest neighbors. Moose, fox, marmots, bear - you usually don't have to try real hard to see wildlife in the area. Look for a wide assortment of birds including eagles, owls, ducks, geese, and more to satisfy the most dedicated birdwatcher.

Your flight from Anchorage is a real opportunity to see south central Alaska from the air. The river systems of our area creates a beautiful panorma - a quilt of nature. To the north, you'll see the formidable Alaska Range crowned by Mt. McKinley. Other mountain ranges are visible as your flight comfortably starts your adventure.

Our Lake Creek is a dynamic, meandering river with many isolated islands, gravel bars, and backwater areas. Your party will often be alone to experience the true backwoods of our part of the world. Fishing for Alaskan King Salmon is like nothing else in the world. Anglers come from all over the world for the experience.

Throughout the summer, Alaska fishing is something special. King Salmon, Silvers (coho), Sockeye and Chum are all abundant. Rainbow trout and Arctic Grayling are often the favorites of fly and spin fishermen. Our professional guides know our rivers, our fish and the right gear to ensure you go home with fish and stories for a lifetime.

Hot Tub with lake viewThough fishermen often wish it wasn't so - you can't spend 24 hours a day in the river or boat. Back at the lodge, your adventure vacation continues with the best food and service in Alaska. Our cabins are comfortable, clean and well-appointed. You and your party will be glad to get back and enjoy and evenings relaxation.

What makes a vacation and adventure? You'll see things and experience a way of life that you'll never forget.
